How To Use Third Party Tools/LTIs

If you (or a student) are having an issue with a third-party tool, we encourage you to contact their support desks directly:

The following tools are installed system-wide:

  • Cengage Learning Mindlinks Links to an external site.- Cengage MindLinks is a cloud-based, interactive tool designed to increase student participation and understanding. Instructors can integrate this content with their Canvas courses via the MindLinks tool.
  • First Day Complete - Barnes & Noble College’s equitable and inclusive access programs, remove barriers from higher education by improving access, affordability, and convenience.
  • Google Drive Links to an external site. - Note: We do not have licensing with Google, but faculty can connect personal accounts to Canvas.  
    • For FERPA protected materials – ex. student lists, grading information -- we stress that you use college provided Microsoft or LMS accounts like OneDrive.
    • We also recommend you create a Google account for academic use (ex. TLT205@gmail.com)
  • Gradescope Links to an external site. - Gradescope helps you seamlessly administer and grade all of your assessments, whether online or in-class. Save time grading and get a clear picture of how your students are doing. – This is available via Settings and will be added to the course tools menu in Canvas (left-hand navigation menu)
  • Libguides Links to an external site. - Libguides are subject specific guides created by Librarians to search for books, eBooks, articles, streaming media, and primary sources. This is available via Settings and will be added to the course tools menu in Canvas (left-hand navigation menu) as Library Resources.
  • Linkedin Learning Links to an external site. - LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos.
    • Can now be added to your course via Settings>Navigation> and enabling the tool 
  • McGraw Hill Connect Links to an external site.- Connect is the homework and learning management platform for educators and students.
  • Microsoft OneDrive Links to an external site. - OneDrive for education connects teachers, students, and administrators to all their work in the cloud.
    • Available as an external tool in Assignments. - Also, create shared OneDrive documents and folders in Collaborations.  
  • Microsoft Teams Classes Links to an external site. - Microsoft Teams classes is an LTI app that helps educators and students easily navigate between their LMS and Teams. - Populated by enrollment data from Banner
    • This is available via Settings and will be added to the course tools menu in Canvas (left hand navigation menu)
  • Microsoft Teams Meetings Links to an external site.-  Microsoft Teams for education brings everyone and everything together in one powerful communication app for schools–and it’s free for students and teachers of all grade levels with a valid email address. - Video conferencing.
    • This is available via Settings and will be added to the course tools menu in Canvas (left-hand navigation menu)
  • MyOpenMath Links to an external site. - MyOpenMath is an online course management and assessment system for mathematics and other quantitative fields.
  • Pearson MyLab & Mastering Links to an external site. - MyLab and Mastering have been designed to give students the tools they need to learn, and to get a better grade.
  • Perusall Links to an external site. - Perusall is an e-reader and social annotation platform used to motivate and engage students with reading course materials. 
    • To add Perusall to your course, go to Settings>Navigation>and drag and drop Perusall into your Course Navigation Tools. - Perusall is also available as an Assignment submission option (select External Tool in Canvas Assignments, then Find, and select Perusall from the menu).
